1/72 Airfix DH.82a Tiger Moth

The Tiger Moth found its way to Spain before the war through private ownership and on reconnaissance duties with the Spanish Air Force. At the outbreak of war they were pressed into service still in the reconnaissance role and were used throughout the duration. They were used both by the republicans and nationalists in many guises, the most attractive of these (in my opinion) are the overall aluminum painted aircraft with the Republican markings. My full build of this kit can be found here: Airfix Tiger Moth 1935

This kit is a relatively new release from Airfix and certainly falls into their ‘mordern’ range of kits. Detail is very good across the board with subtle fabric texture in the fuselage and wings, a busy cockpit and very good overall shape. Fit is good and the construction is a little delicate so care needs to be taken at each step.
