The I-15 nicknamed Chato (Snub Nose) by Spaniards, was one of the mainstays of the Republican forces. Supplied by the Soviets this little bi plane proved comparable to its opposition through 1936 & 1937 and was only outmatched by the arrival of the Messerschmitt Bf 109, with this and the arrival of the later Polikarpov I-16 the I-15 was relegated to a ground attack role where it proved very successful.
This kit from Pavla is a multi-media kit including etch metal, resin, vac form canopy and injection molded plastic. Detail across all the parts is impressive and high, I’ve seen no flash or mis-molds, there are large ejector pin marks on the inside of some parts but these should cause no problems. The decals look really good, being very thin with good register. A very nice cast engine is included. There are three Spanish markings included, two republican and one a captured nationalist example.
A very fine kit which will build into a very detailed little plane, one that will easily fit in the palm of your hand once built!
